Private Label

Private label pickleball paddles, built to be yours.

Launch your own paddle line without building a supply chain. Proven constructions, your brand and packaging, real minimums. Private label, white label or full OEM.

Branding an existing model needs far fewer units than a custom build.

Know Your Route

Private label, white label, OEM, ODM: untangled.

Suppliers use these terms loosely, which is how buyers end up comparing quotes for different things. Here is what each route means for a paddle brand.

Comparison of private label, white label, OEM and ODM production routes for pickleball paddles
RouteWhat it meansBest forRelative minimums
White labelA factory's existing open-mold paddle with your logo and graphics. Other brands may sell the same underlying paddle.Testing the market fast at the lowest cost and risk.Lowest
Private labelAn existing construction tailored to your brand: graphics, grip, finish, packaging. Sold only under your name.Building a real brand without funding custom tooling.Low to mid
OEMOriginal equipment manufacturing: the factory builds a paddle to YOUR specification. Your layup, core, shape, mold.Established brands that need genuine product differentiation.Mid to high
ODMThe factory's own design, offered for you to brand and sell. Their engineering, your marketing.Speed to market where the design itself isn't the differentiator.Low to mid

Exact minimums depend on construction and partner. You get real numbers per route once we know your project. Note that consumer forums use "OEM" loosely for grey-market paddles; here it means legitimate contract manufacturing for your brand.

Differentiation

Avoid becoming the fiftieth identical paddle.

Here is the uncomfortable truth of private label. If you brand the most popular open-mold paddle, so will dozens of other brands. That can still be the right first move, because it validates demand cheaply. But your roadmap should climb toward something of your own.

We help you plan that climb. Start on a proven platform, customise what your players actually feel (core thickness, face texture, grip, balance), then graduate to your own mold when volume justifies tooling. Your molds and artwork remain yours, in writing.

  • Honest advice on when white label is enough, and when it isn't
  • A differentiation roadmap from first run to custom tooling
  • IP basics handled: artwork, molds and designs contractually yours
  • Reorder consistency: your spec stays on file with the partner

FAQ

Private label questions, answered.

What is the minimum order for private label pickleball paddles?

It depends on the route. Branding an existing open-mold model carries the lowest minimums, and a small first order is realistic. Custom constructions and thermoformed builds carry higher factory minimums because of setup and tooling. Tell us your target quantity and we'll map it to real options rather than quote one number that hides the trade-offs.

Do I need my own mold?

Not to start. Most successful launches begin on an existing open mold with custom graphics, then invest in custom tooling once sales justify it. When you do fund a mold, ownership should be contractual, and we put it in writing.

Can I sell private label paddles without USA Pickleball approval?

Legally yes, for recreational play. But approval is required for sanctioned tournament play, and it is a trust signal retail buyers and serious players look for. Approval is per model per brand. We support the process, and the fees belong in your launch budget.

What's the biggest mistake first-time private label brands make?

Ordering bulk from a sample they never stress-tested, made by a supplier they never vetted. The fix is boring and effective: test samples hard, sign off a golden sample, put QC in the contract, and never pay 100% up front.

Can you also supply branded balls, covers and bags to match?

Yes. Matching balls, paddle covers, bags and packaging can ship alongside your paddles as one programme, which is usually cheaper and always more coherent than sourcing them separately.
